This afternoon about 5pm we saw a barn owl flying low along the hedge where we were driving.
This photograph isn't much good, as I took it from inside the car. We had stopped to watch it as it perched. For about five minutes it flew along field edges and followed the river bank, then returned. Maybe it was out early to hunt for food after last night's snow. It's the best view I have had of an owl in the wild. Harry has taken some better camcorder shots with a decent zoom.
