Twelfth Night at Tolethorpe

Twelfth Night in July

The waxing moon

Yesterday evening:

above a chimney
in a pink gold evening sky
the moon's question mark

and today:

in the midday sky
the moon is a pale sunshade
as parachutes fall

I didn't attempt to take photos of either though.

Bits of Southampton

Outside the City Art Gallery

On the wall of the 'Juniper Berry' pub
the town I thought of
as the passage to the south
is much much more . . .

Southampton -
transit to somewhere else
with history

Seasonal cappuccino

small cappuccino
dressed for summer -

or turn it upside down
whatever floats your boat.

stone carving
female with fearsome features
to drive out evil spirits

at Braunston in Rutland.

She may be a relic of a previous pagan site. Used face down as a step until rediscovered in 1920 or so.

follow on from soggy socks

Two online friends have added lines to the haiku - we are having fun this month with a thing called tan-renga. One person writes a haiku, and another person adds two lines to turn it into a tanka.
5-7-5-7-7 syllables, or short long short long long. Or shorter.

So - "jazzmuzz'  turned it into this:
soggy socks and boots
open church has a picture
- Noah's Ark (aliqot)
should we have entered
port in a storm two by two? (jazzmuzz)
which raised a grin!

"goldenlangur" turned it into this:
soggy socks and boots
open church has a picture
- Noah's Ark aliqot

brimful of cloud-animals
sails into the rainbow gl
playful and light-hearted!
