Crocheted headband sewn on a base from an old fleece jumper. A little tight, so I may pass this on to Hazel...working on headband mark 2. a tip I picked up online - make the original chain using a larger hook than you use for the rest of the work.
I've been able to knit in spite of a bout of conjunctivitis which has caused blurred vision in my left eye. Having a little more trouble with crochet, but then it's ages since I tried. Threading the sewing machine is also proving tricky. I think it's beginning to improve, but it could take a little while.
A group of us in Gretton are trying to reduce our own plastic waste and encourage others to take action too. We've had a couple of meetings, set up a Facebook group and have booked a stall at one of the local summer events. As I won't be there, I've been making some bunting to advertise the stall, along with some bags to give away - on the Morsbags model. These are made from second hand fabric and given away free of charge.
Slipper socks with soles, almost complete. Took a while, and I made the soles from cloth padded with old sleeping bag wadding, and added non-slip surface - the stuff you can buy to put under rugs, or on shelves. It does look a little odd in the top pic. How long will it last? Well, my others have gone through several washes.
Look what we found, when we went up into the loft to get the Christmas decorations. Made by my own fair hand, but only big enough for a doll's bed. It would be ideal for a bed cover this weather though. If I were a doll.
The style of rug is called rya (shaggy), and was common in Scandinavia. I wove it from scratch, and both backing weave and the long pile were done in wool. After a bit of searching I've found the instructions, too.
